The days go by…

As painful as waiting in anticipation can be… the days are flying by… Only 13 days away and I am currently re-visiting all my thoughts and memories of people who left an imprint on my life for the better and worse.

I know people say things happen for a reason, or “what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger”, but I feel that only applies as long as you create a reason, or decide to make lemonade from the lemons… hind-sight is kinda funny like that. After you spill the milk, you may as well laugh about it, cause you still have to clean it. I think the rapper 50-cent said it best: “You can like it or love it…” hehe.

Anyways, today at this particular point in time I feel completely thankful for everything that has happened in my life and all the people I have met and shared it with. I don’t know how much I believe in destiny, but some things seem way too coincidental to be chance. Whatever it is… I like to think back to a quote a young friend told me: “You do not meditate upon God, God meditates upon you.” After a little more prodding at the meaning he told me that it is your responsibility to do and say whats right from moment to moment, and as long as it is “in-line” the light can shine in and upon you. Essentially for you to uphold the truth as you see and feel it, no matter how embarrassing and ego-threatening.

Well… the adventure has not even begun yet and I already sense a transformation occuring…

Waiting, waiting, waiting… I must say that is something I am pretty good with at this point. I have been waiting over a year for the Peace Corps journey to begin and now that it is the closest it has ever been, it feels like it’s still miles away.

I am thankful for the time and experiences I have had within this year of waiting, as I feel that have only made me more prepared for what I am about to face, but man oh man… waiting for something for so long, with so many speed bumps and u-turns, it really felt like it may never happen.

Yet here I am… 19 days away from the Philippines… and it still feels like a dream.

This is the beginning of my preperation for my two years of service within the Peace Corps Philippines.

I will do my best to keep everyone who cares posted as things unfold. :)

Check back after August 21st… when the real adventure begins!
